Bronxville shuts out Briarcliff in balanced team effort

Two games were scheduled for today, but only one was played.

Bronxville shutout Briarcliff 4-0 today, and the Nanuet-Clarkstown game was rained out. That game has been re-scheduled for Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

My game story on the Broncos’ win can be read below. Because it was the only game, there is no scoreboard for tonight.

Bronxville was pumped for its homecoming game

The Broncos got three goals in the second half and saw four different players score in their 4-0 win over visiting Briarcliff on Saturday.

“There was a lot of pep, it was fun.” Bronxville head coach Jacquelyn Frawley said. “It was a good game for both teams.”

Junior Lilly Grass and sophomore Mia Bettino each had one-goal, one assist games for Bronxville. Senior Briana Alberghine and junior Caroline DePaul rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.

Senior goalie Caroline Cahaney made two saves in goal for Bronxville, while Briarcliff’s Michelle Rotondo made seven saves.

Bronxville now has a 10-1-2 overall record, and has three games left before the playoffs begin.

“At this point, we’re looking to finish the season strong,” Frawley said. “We’re not trying to think about post-season, but we know it’s coming.”

“We’re taking it one game at a time.”
